Assistant Professor with Expertise in Medicine Relevant Chemical Biology

The Department of Chemistry at the University of Nebraska – Lincoln (UNL) is seeking a Assistant Professor with Expertise in Medicine Relevant Chemical Biology. The position is anticipated to emphasize research in biomedically relevant chemical biology and would be affiliated with the Nebraska Center for Integrated Biomolecular Communication (NCIBC; http://ncibc.unl.edu/). NCIBC focuses on probing spatial and temporal aspects of chemical and biochemical communication. Possible areas include, but are not limited to, biological mass spectrometry, chemical OMICS, protein engineering/design, virtual screening, high-throughput drug discovery, and/or medicinal chemistry. Teaching undergraduate and graduate courses as well as service to the department, College and/or the University.

Minimum qualifications: a PhD in chemistry, biochemistry or allied discipline. The faculty member filling the position will demonstrate the capability of teaching in basic, advanced, and graduate level chemistry courses.

Preferred experience includes: a strong record of scholarly activity as evidenced by a significant publication record, the potential for developing an externally funded research program in biomedically relevant chemical biology, and expertise in the teaching of chemistry content or pedagogy to undergraduate and/or graduate students.
